Alex Miller, Chair

Alex Miller is founder and President of ESRI Canada Limited, a privately held Canadian owned company specializing in the design and implementation of geographic information systems. Mr. Miller is a graduate of the University of New Brunswick in Fredericton with a Bachelor of Science in Surveying Engineering. Mr. Miller has over 35 years experience in surveying, mapping, engineering, information systems design and management consulting. He is past Chair of the Geomatics Industry Association of Canada, Co-Chair of the GeoConnections Policy Advisory Committee, Chair of the Geomatics Canada Advisory Committee and a member of the Federal Department of Natural Resources Minister’s National Advisory Board on Earth Sciences.

Dana Krechowicz, Treasurer

Dana Krechowicz is a sustainability professional with an extensive background in finance, sustainable business and public policy. She currently works as a sustainability and climate change consultant at a leading global accounting and advisory firm. She has worked in provincial government in climate change policy, for two leading  environmental think tanks, and in the responsible investment sector. She previously served as Vice-Chair of the Board of Directors of a sustainable social enterprise and charity in Ottawa. She has an International MBA specialized in sustainability from the Schulich School of Business and an undergraduate degree in finance.
She has an avid interest in film, and has volunteered in the past for TIFF, the Toronto Screenwriting Conference, as well as Planet in Focus. In her spare time she enjoys developing television and film projects, as well as sports including soccer, skiing and cycling.

Hon. David Crombie, OC

Hon. David Crombie was elected to Toronto’s city council in 1970, and became Mayor of Toronto in 1972. Crombie was enormously popular as mayor, being re-elected in 1974 and 1976 with large majorities. He was described as the city’s “tiny, perfect mayor”. He left City Hall in 1978 to move to federal politics. Federally, he served with distinction for a decade, holding several important cabinet posts.

His concern for the natural and built environment is reflected in his roles as a commissioner with the Royal Commission on the Future of the Toronto Waterfront and as founding chair of the Waterfront Regeneration Trust. He is the President of David Crombie and Associates, the Chair of Toronto Lands Corporation, and Chair of Ontario Place. He is the immediate past President and CEO of the Canadian Urban Institute and Chair of the Advisory Council of the Nuclear Waste Management Organization. In addition to his role as a former mayor of the City of Toronto and he was a Privy Councillor. Mr. Crombie was the first Chancellor of Ryerson University and is the recipient of honorary doctorates of law from the University of Toronto and the University of Waterloo. Mr. Crombie is an Officer of the Order of Canada.
