Youth Camera Action!
Youth Camera Action (YCA), a program of Planet in Focus, is a Toronto based film-production camp for at-risk youth who are passionate about the environment. The program connects industry professionals to students for a two-week intensive program that empowers students to create films that educate and inspire environmental change. Our participants are honored by having their completed films screened at the annual Planet in Focus, the largest environmental film festival in North America. Planet in Focus is taking place October 10 – 14, 2012.
An Inconvenient Route, produced in YCA’s 2010 program, was featured in the Young Cuts Short Film Festival, Montreal.
New This Year: International Connections and YOU!
Youth Camera Action is partnered with the Eat My Dust Project, a film production program located in Kliptown, one of the poorest parts of Soweto, South Africa. Youth Camera Action and Eat My Dust participants will be partnered up, and communicate via skype to share their passion for the environment and for filmmaking, a rich and invaluable experience for both programs.

With your support, we can make the two week film production class free for all participants, allowing them to take advantage of an opportunity that will expose them to meaningful learning, hands-on experience in the film industry, and to make connections on the other side of the planet.
