Internship Posting: Social Media & Design Internship
Type: Part-time, unpaid internship. Flexible hours (1 day in office then work from home if necessary).
Term: January – April, 2013
Planet in Focus is Canada’s largest non-profit environmental media arts organization. We are seeking an energetic individual to join our dynamic team on an internship basis.
The successful candidate will design marketing materials for print and web in a style consistent with Planet in Focus’ brand image. He or she will also maintain Planet in Focus’ various social media networks to promote PIF events and programming. Working within the scope of Planet in Focus’ mandate, the Social Media Intern will develop a consistent and engaging voice for PIF communication. This will include frequent updates and the identification of online marketing opportunities.
Duties & Responsibilities:
-Design marketing materials such as print ads, postcards and flyers for programming purposes.
-Maintain Planet in Focus’ Facebook fan page, Twitter feed and website blog posts with active and engaging updates.
-Contribute to the bi-monthly e-mail newsletter by identifying opportunities for cross-promotion.
The successful candidate must have experience in the following:
-Proven success with social media platforms; active participation with blogging, Twitter, etc.
-Wordpress website maintenance.
- Illustrator and InDesign software
-The ability to work independently and communicate effectively.
This is an unpaid internship consisting of 2-3 hours in office per week. The intern must commit to frequent and consistent social media updates weekly, and may do so from home or may choose to work in the office.
