Hydro-Québec is on the verge of building four new hydroelectric dams on the Romaine River. The filmmakers decide to canoe down the river’s 500-kilometre course, from source to mouth, in 46 days in order to document the ecosystem of the Romaine before it is destroyed forever.
Along with activist and actor Roy Dupuis (La Femme Nikita, Shake Hands with the Devil), president of the Rivers Foundation, they explore the profitability and feasibility of various renewable energy sources across Quebec.
