Kwaxsistalla, a Kwakwaka’wakw clan chief , has something to say about the current logging practices on Vancouver Island—and it is not pretty.
Juxtaposing the tree farms that surround his home with a magnificent ancient rainforest on the Pacific Coast, filmmaker and local inhabitant Richard Boyce captures the detrimental effects of intensive logging.
Winner of the Best Mountain Culture Film Award at the Whistler Film Festival, Rainforest, in the words of the jury, “re-exposes our most critical environmental issue while at the same time pushing the cinematic experience and limits of storytelling, cinematography and editing.”
