Directed by: Jennifer Baichwal | 90 minutes | Canada | PG | Documentary | 2006

Award-winning filmmaker Jennifer Baichwal follows renowned photographer Edward Burtynsky as he travels to China to capture “manufactured landscapes”—quarries, recycling yards, factories, mines and dams—in his photographic exploration of the effects of industrial revolution and the consequent environmental devastation.

In Manufactured Landscapes, Baichwal goes beyond Burtynsky’s beautiful and haunting images to contemplate the impacts of industrialization on workers and communities as well as their wider global implications.
