What began as a childhood dream became an epic 18-month adventure spanning the globe. Making history as the world’s first circumnavigator powered exclusively by the sun, Swiss school teacher Louis Palmer and his homemade Solartaxi have set out to prove to the world that a zero emission car is not a dream.
With stops at the United Nations World Climate Change Conference and renewable energy expos and research centres worldwide, Louis demonstrates to a multitude of passengers—including Jay Leno, James Cameron, Prince Hassan of Jordan and renowned scientists and politicians—that solar energy is not only functional and efficient, but a reliable alternative to fossil fuels.
This program was provided by and is available from PBS Video (www.shoppbs.org) and for educators (www.shoppbs.org/teachershop).
