The Day After Peace charts the remarkable 10-year journey taken by award winning filmmaker Jeremy Gilley to establish a day of Peace on September 21. Working tirelessly, Jeremy’s efforts resulted in the unanimous adoption by UN member states of the first ever, annual day of global ceasefire and non-violence on September 21—Peace Day. Gilley then turned his efforts to implementing the ideals of Peace Day around the world. Through the support of many he travelled to Afghanistan with Peace One Day ambassador Jude Law to spearhead a campaign that resulted in the vaccination against polio of 4.5 million children since 2007. On Peace Day 2008 in Afghanistan, the UN Department of Safety and Security announced a 70 per cent reduction in violent incidents. Featuring Angelina Jolie, the Dalhi Lama, Jude Law, Michael Douglas and Annie Lennox.
Note: Jeremy Gilley, the founder of the organization and director of the film will be coming from the UK to do a post-screening Q&A.
